Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has insisted that his team will "bounce back" from Saturday night's Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.
The 2016 final in Milan headed for a penalty shootout after the two teams played out a 1-1 draw, and it was Real Madrid that triumphed on spot kicks to land an 11th European Cup.
It is the second time in three years that Atletico have lost to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, but Gabi has refused to be too disheartened.
"It's important that we were here, and I'm convinced that this team will bounce back to win a Champions League because they deserve it. We must be proud of this team. This is the beauty and cruelty of football," Gabi told reporters.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the decisive penalty in the shootout after Juanfran missed Atletico's fourth effort.
