Sports Mole takes a look at who impressed in Atletico Madrid's 1-0 win over Juventus in the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid recorded a 1-0 win over Juventus in their Champions League Group A meeting on Wednesday.

The only goal of the match came 15 minutes from time, when Arda Turan poked home a cross from Juanfran.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at the performances of each individual player.

ATLETICO

Goal

Miguel Moya: Did not have a single save to make, but looked confident from crosses. Seems to have beaten Jan Oblak in the battle for the gloves this season. (6/10)

Defence

Juanfran: Was always prepared to break into the Juventus half and it was his cross that set up Turan for the only goal of the match. The right-back was also solid defensively this evening. (7/10)

Miranda: Faultless display from the centre-back, who won the physical battle with Fernando Llorente and matched the movement of Carlos Tevez. (9/10)

Diego Godin: Alongside Miranda, Godin was also at his best this evening. The Uruguayan never looked flustered as he controlled the defence. (8/10)

Cristian Ansaldi: Like Juanfran, was always prepared to venture into the final third and the left-back delivered some telling crosses in the second period. (7/10)

Midfield

Koke: Deployed in a deeper role this evening due to the absence of skipper Gabi and the Spaniard showed his maturity with a calm and composed midfield performance. (7/10)

Raul Garcia: Caused Juventus problems with his physicality in the first period before dropping deeper in the second 45 minutes. A solid all-round display. (7/10)

Tiago: As always, the Portuguese was brilliant in possession of the ball. Did not have much of an influence in an attacking sense, but set the tempo in the middle of the park. (6/10)

Attack

Arda Turan: Proved the match winner when he turned home from close range late on. Before that, he had struggled to get into the match, but the Turk made the telling contribution. (7/10)

Mario Mandzukic: Went toe-to-toe with Juventus's powerful defence and did not shirk any aerial challenges despite his broken nose, but struggled for service in the final third. (6/10)

Saul Niguez: Was handed a surprise start in place of Antoine Griezmann, but the Spaniard struggled to influence proceedings before departing early in the second half. (5/10)

Substitutes

Antoine Griezmann: Again, the Frenchman made a strong contribution from the bench. Gave his side energy and a cutting edge as Juventus tired in the latter stages. (7/10)

Mario Suarez: Introduced late on to tighten up the midfield and the Spaniard indeed performed that role. (6/10)

Guilherme Siqueira: Replaced Turan after 89 minutes to provide an extra body in defence. (5/10)

JUVENTUS

Goal

Gianluigi Buffon: Did not have much to do aside from save a long-range strike from Mandzukic in the first period. The veteran could also do little with Atletico's winner late on. (6/10)

Defence

Leonardo Bonucci: Picked up an early yellow card, but continued to commit to challenges. Battled well against the physical presence of Mandzukic. (7/10)

Giorgio Chiellini: Proved a solid presence at the heart of his side's defence this evening. Gave the likes of Turan and Saul little room to operate. (7/10)

Martin Caceres: Perhaps slightly at fault for Atletico's winner as he allowed Turan to poke home, but overall the defender had a strong night in Madrid. (7/10)

Midfield

Stephan Lichtsteiner: Tasked with defending and attacking in equal measure, but the wing-back never threatened to get into the match. (6/10)

Paul Pogba: Had some decent moments when he broke into the Atletico half, but lost his discipline in the latter stages and was perhaps a shade fortunate not to be sent off. (6/10)

Arturo Vidal: A difficult night for the Chilean, who has hardly seen as an attacking threat. Was not much of a surprise when he was substituted late on. (5/10)

Claudio Marchisio: Proved a busy presence in the middle of the park and was neat and tidy on the ball without really stamping his mark on the match. (6/10)

Patrice Evra: Helped quell Atletico's threat in wide areas, but did not contribute for his side in an attacking sense. Looked slightly leggy at times. (6/10)

Attack

Carlos Tevez: Entered the match in brilliant form, but struggled to get the best of Godin and Miranda. Had his moments, but they did not come often enough. (5/10)

Fernando Llorente: Did his best in a constant aerial battle with Godin and Miranda, but lacked movement around him. (6/10)

Substitutes

Roberto Pereyra: Introduced with little over 10 minutes remaining, but found it difficult to pick up the pace of the match. (5/10)

Alvaro Morata: Picked up a late yellow card for a rash challenge on Turan. Did not really have the time to make a positive contribution. (5/10)

Sebastian Giovinco: Looked to have a sight of goal in stoppage time, but replays showed that he had handled. Brought pace to the attack after entering with 88 minutes on the clock. (5/10)
