Atletico Madrid centre-back Diego Godin insisted that his "job is to defend" when questioned on his impressive display against Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Diego Costa scored the only goal of the Europa League semi-final second leg in the Spanish capital as Atletico booked their spot in the final at Arsenal's expense.
Godin was widely praised for his defensive performance on the night, but the Uruguay international has said that a team effort rather than individual displays saw Diego Simeone's side through to the final.
"My job is to defend and to organise others," Godin told beIN Sports. "We were able to defend well but I only want to speak about us collectively and not individually and tonight (Thursday) the work rate was very important.
"Our concentration was really strong and we helped each other out but our performance was well-balanced because we also had a danger in attack.
"We have always said we want to win another European trophy this season and we have the same attitude as in the Champions League, these competitions are on the same importance.
"We know we are capable of winning the final and we hope our fans, who were magnificent tonight (Thursday), will show again why they are the best in the world."
Godin joined Atletico from Villarreal in the summer of 2010.
