Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone will commit his future to the club later this week by penning a new deal, according to his sister and agent.
The Spanish champions booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League last night with a penalty-shootout victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
There could now be further reason for Atleti supporters to celebrate, as Natalia Simeone hinted that her sibling will reject reported interest from elsewhere to remain at the Vicente Calderon.
"I'm really emotional. There is so much adrenaline with Atleti and you live every match with so much emotion," she told Teledeporte.
"There is really good news coming in the next few days. The fans will be very happy. We are going to continue to work together. [Diego] always believes in his work, he believes in his players and he was confident.
"Hard work always pays off - that's what Diego says. He has so much passion for what he does. The day he gives up, he will need to take up something new!"
Simeone took charge of the Rojiblancos in 2011, turning around the club's fortunes to lead them into the latter stages of the Champions League for two years in succession, alongside the memorable league triumph last time out.
