Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann held talks with Paris Saint-Germain before deciding to sign a new long-term contract at the Spanish club.
The 25-year-old recently committed his future to Atletico by signing a contract that will keep him at the Vicente Calderon until 2021, despite reported interest from a number of other top clubs in Europe.
PSG were one such interested party, and the player's advisor has now revealed that there were discussions with the French champions before Griezmann opted to stay in Spain.
"There were talks with [PSG sporting director] Olivier Letang," Eric Olhats told RMC.
"Paris Saint-Germain were interested in signing him. We listened to what they had to say because PSG are a club with an interesting project.
"We eventually opted for continuity with Atletico after those talks and weighing up the various offers. But you never know what happens in the future."
Griezmann starred for France at Euro 2016 this summer, winning the Golden Boot and being named the Player of the Tournament having scored six goals and created two more to help the hosts to the final.
