Thibaut Courtois has called on his Atletico Madrid teammates to remain focused following their impressive start to the season.

Atletico breezed through the group stage of the Champions League and currently sit level on points and goal difference with Barcelona at the top of the La Liga table.

"We know that we have some tough weeks coming up. Here, points could be lost," Courtois told the club's official website.

"The win at home to Valencia was good. I believe that we have a very competitive team.

"If anyone is injured or suspended, there is another ready to play. We hope to continue like this until the end."

Courtois's own future remains unresolved with the Belgian international due to return to his parent club Chelsea at the end of the season.
