Leicester City are reportedly interested in signing Hertha Berlin midfielder Ibrahim Maza.
The 18-year-old has impressed at the beginning of the 2024-25 term for the capital club in the second tier of the German football pyramid.
Maza has started 12 matches in Bundesliga 2 for Hertha Berlin, scoring three goals whilst also providing an assist for a teammate on one occasion.
The youngster graduated out of the club's youth system and has since made 29 appearances for the first team since March 2023, scoring six goals.
Maza also possesses some international pedigree, earning his maiden senior cap for CAF giants Algeria during an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in October.
Leicester want Hertha Berlin star Maza?
According to news outlet AS, a number of top-flight European clubs are exploring potential moves for the services of Hertha Berlin's Maza in the near future.
The report claims that Leicester are one of these sides, with the Foxes looking to bolster their chances of avoiding an immediate return to the Championship.
As well as Steve Cooper's side, it is understood that Spanish powerhouses Atletico Madrid are monitoring the progress of youngster Maza.
There is also supposedly interest from the top flight of France, with a resurgent Marseille outfit also keen on securing the signature of the Algerian.
Finally, Leicester could face competition for Maza from a Premier League rival, with Thomas Frank's Brentford said to be monitoring the midfielder.
How would Maza fare in the Premier League?
Due to Hertha Berlin's relegation from the Bundesliga in 2023, Maza has played the majority of his first-team football to date in the second tier of Germany.
However, at the age of 18, there is room for the attack-minded midfielder to develop into a top-flight star, potentially in the Premier League.
With Maza's contract in the German capital expiring in 2027, Hertha Berlin will be able to drive a hard bargain with potential suitors.
