Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has said that he is pleased with how Fernando Torres and Mario Mandzukic performed together in Sunday's 2-0 win over Granada.
Both strikers started in tandem for the first time since Torres's move to the Spanish capital earlier this month.
Mandzukic opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Diego Godin was fouled in his bid to latch on to a cross from the former Liverpool and Chelsea man.
Although both failed to get on the scoresheet - Raul Garcia netted the second - Simeone says that he is encouraged by the early signs of their partnership.
"The opponent were defensively organised, with many people behind the ball," the Argentine told reporters.
"It was the first time they had played together. It's normal. They are two strikers with distinct but similar features. I'm happy."
Atletico remain third in La Liga, four points adrift of leaders Real Madrid.
