Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has dismissed suggestions that his side were fortunate to win La Liga last campaign.
Los Rojiblancos won the title on the final day of the season after a 1-1 draw with Barcelona at Camp Nou, and the Atleti boss bristled at claims that his team were lucky to break the duopoly of Real Madrid and Barca.
"Last year was no fluke, it was a consequence of what has been going on at the club," Simeone told AS.
"First it was [winning] the Europa League, then the European Super Cup, Copa del Rey, third in the League and the following year the League title and the Champions League final."
Atletico are on the verge of signing Antoine Griezmann from Real Sociedad.
