Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has paid tribute to his side for remaining patient in Sunday's La Liga clash with Deportivo La Coruna, which the hosts won 1-0 courtesy of a 70th-minute strike from Antoine Griezmann.
Atletico struggled to break Deportivo down for long spells of the clash in Madrid, but Griezmann's effort 20 minutes from time continued the Madrid club's unbeaten start to the season.
"It took us time to get into the rhythm that was needed. The game was complicated and we were forced to make two changes due to injuries in the first half," Simeone told reporters.
"We did not have the pace that we needed in the first half, but played at a higher rate in the second half. It was a hard, intense game."
Atletico have now won three and drawn three of their six La Liga matches this season, with a total of 12 points leaving them third in the table - two points off the leaders Real Madrid.
