Villarreal have reportedly decided against paying a fee in the region of £165,000 that would have made Oliver Torres eligible to face his parent club Atletico Madrid at the weekend.
Torres moved to the Yellow Submarine on loan in January and it had initially been thought that the Spaniard would face his parent team in the Spanish capital on Saturday afternoon.
However, according to Marca, Villarreal have decided against paying the additional fee, ruling the 19-year-old out of the La Liga clash.
Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo, however, who is also on loan at Villarreal from Atletico, has been cleared to feature.
