Atletico Madrid are left frustrated by the officials as a number of decisions go against the reigning Spanish champions during their stalemate with Athletic Bilbao.

Atletico Madrid were frustrated by the officials as a number of decisions, including an incorrectly-called offside goal, went against the reigning Spanish champions during their stalemate with Athletic Bilbao.

Fernando Torres was was given a yellow card in the first half for unsportsmanlike conduct, after the striker felt that he should have been given a penalty.

The former Chelsea striker was dragged down in the area as he tried to connect with a cross, but was adjudged to have gone down too easily by referee Jaime Latre.

Antoine Greizmann also had a goal ruled out for offside in the first half, a decision correctly called by the Spanish officials.

Atletico continued to knock on the Bilbao door and should have been 1-0 up when Tiago scored from a set piece.

However, the linesman ruled the goal out for offside when replays suggested that he was a few yards onside.

Greizmann continued to get in behind Bilbao's back line, forcing Iago Herrerin to rush off his line to stop the Frenchman on multiple occasions.

Bilbao failed to threaten Madrid's goal, but held their own defensively, even when they went down to 10 men after Unai Bustinza was given a second yellow card in added time.

Atletico stay third in the table, while the point keeps Bilbao outside of the Europa League places in seventh.
