Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has hit out at Edinson Cavani following the club's failed pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain striker.
Cavani handed in a transfer request at the Parc des Princes last month and looked certain to be on his way out of the French capital before Friday's transfer deadline.
Despite some late interest from Chelsea, the Uruguay international remains a PSG player until the end of the season, at which point his contract will expire.
Atleti chief Cerezo has seemingly blamed Cavani's representatives for getting in the way of a deal, telling Marca: "It's a shame, the situation of some players with their agents and family members.
"We're not there to be messed about."
Atletico lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in Saturday's derby at the Santiago Bernabeu to fall 13 points adrift of the summit.
