Paris-Saint Germain manager Laurent Blanc has said that he hopes to see Thiago Motta stay at the club.
Motta, 32, has expressed his desire to leave the French giants and rejoin Atletico Madrid this summer, but Blanc is hopeful of retaining the midfielder.
"Thiago Motta's future? I haven't got a crystal ball but as of today, he's our player and I hope he still is on September 1," he told reporters.
"It's a delicate situation but the club is working on it. Of course I am hoping that Thiago will continue to be a Parisienne this season."
Italy international Motta joined PSG from Inter Milan in 2011 and has since scored nine goals in 116 appearances. He made eight appearances for Atletico Madrid in a brief spell in 2007.
