Schalke 04 have dismissed speculation that goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann could leave the club at the end of the season, according to reports.
The 25-year-old only has a further season to run on his contract, and has been mooted as a target for Atletico Madrid, given that Thibaut Courtois, currently on loan at the Vicente Calderon, is expected to return to Chelsea in the summer.
However, Schalke's general manager Horst Heldt has played down the prospect of Fahrmann being sold, and expects him to be the club's goalkeeper next season.
"Ralf Fahrmann has a contract with our club and we are very happy about the situation in terms of our goalkeepers," Heldt told Bild.
"As things stand today, I am able to rule out that he will leave the club at the end of the season. We do not want that to happen. And also Ralf does not want that to happen as far as I am concerned."
Fahrmann previously left Schalke in 2009 to join Eintracht Frankfurt before returning to the club two years later.
