Mark Bresciano: 'Australia won't be overawed against the Netherlands'

Australia's Mark Bresciano insists that the team will not be overawed when they take on the Netherlands at the World Cup on Wednesday.

Australia midfielder Mark Bresciano has insisted that the team will not be overawed when they play the Netherlands at the World Cup on Wednesday.

The Socceroos were beaten 2-1 by Chile in their opening match, while the Dutch romped past holders Spain 5-1.

When asked if the Aussies would be intimidated by their opponents tomorrow night, Bresciano told reporters: "I don't think so. For a lot of the players, it was the first time to play in a big tournament like this.

"We did lose the (Chile) game in that first 20 minutes. We probably did switch off a bit and we gave the opportunity for the Chileans to get on top of us, but I think this time round we've all experienced what it's all about and I think we'll be focused from the first minute."

Bresciano has scored 13 goals in 74 appearances for Australia.
