Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba has received a call-up to the Austria squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan on Tuesday.
The 20-year-old has only just recovered from a stress fracture to his foot, making his return to action in a friendly game last night and will link up with his national squad tomorrow.
Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes had voiced his concern over Alaba's fitness, stating that he would not be fit enough to play for his country.
However, it is believed that Alaba will not play in the game against Kazakhstan, as ESPN reports that coach Marcel Koller is also unwilling to risk his fitness.
