NEC have surged into the Eredivisie's playoff places with a 4-2 victory against AZ in Sunday's match at the AFAS Stadion.
The half-hour mark of the game saw three goals scored in five minutes, as Anthony Limbombe broke the deadlock after 29 minutes.
Markus Henriksen then equalised for the hosts in the 33rd minute and Christian Santos struck a minute later to give the visitors a 2-1 half-time lead.
Two more quickfire goals for NEC in the second half, through Lucas Woudenberg and Limbombe, gave them a dominant 4-1 lead, and despite Henriksen's second strike in the 66th minute, the visitors saw the game out and clinched all three points.
The result sees Ernest Faber's charges climb to sixth in the Eredivisie table, while AZ drop to 11th place.
