Barcelona defender Adriano is sidelined for Tuesday's Champions League encounter against Ajax with an ankle injury.

Barcelona defender Adriano has been ruled out of Tuesday's Champions League encounter against Ajax with an ankle injury.

The Brazilian international suffered sprained ligaments during his side's 4-0 win over Granada in La Liga on Saturday.

However, Xavi Hernandez has been included in the squad for the match at the Amsterdam ArenA following a hamstring problem.

Barca travel to the Netherlands having already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League after taking 10 points from their opening four matches in Group H.
