A hamstring tear will keep Barcelona's Andres Iniesta out of action for a month.

Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has been ruled out of action for a month with a hamstring injury.

The World Cup winner limped out of yesterday's 2-2 draw with AC Milan during the first half and subsequent tests have revealed that he has torn the muscle.

"Andres is a player who has played such a high level for many years now, but sometimes these things happen," coach Pep Guardiola said after the match.

"He'll recover. We try to stay on top of injuries like every seasons but sometimes this happens. That's a common muscle injury."

The 27-year-old joins Alexis Sanchez on Barca's injury list.
