Barcelona have confirmed that Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba both picked up injuries in the first half of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City at Camp Nou.
Alba pulled up in the 10th minute of the Group C fixture and was replaced by Lucas Digne, while Pique failed to recover from a late challenge from David Silva and had to leave the field towards the end of the first period.
"The club's medical staff have announced that the centre-half (Pique) has a right ankle sprain whilst the left-back (Alba) has a hamstring problem in his left leg," read a statement on Barca's official website. "Both players will have further tests on Thursday to ascertain the exact extent of their injuries."
A hat-trick from Lionel Messi and a late Neymar strike saw Barcelona record a 4-0 win over Pep Guardiola's Man City.
