Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has declared Lionel Messi as "the best player of all time" following his performance for Barcelona in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Messi was not on the scoresheet in tonight's second leg, which Barca lost 3-2, but did swing the tie firmly in his side's favour with two goals and an assist in the final 13 minutes of the first leg.
The Argentine has 53 goals for the season and is the Champions League's record scorer with 77, and Guardiola believes that he is now "back to his best".
"Messi is incredible, back to his best as when I used to train him. He's the best player of all time. I can compare him with Pele," he told reporters.
Neymar got both of his side's goals at the Allianz Arena this evening as Barcelona progressed to the final of the Champions League courtesy of a 5-3 aggregate success.
