Luis Suarez has insisted that Barcelona always "believed" that they would come out on top against Bayer Leverkusen at Camp Nou last night.
The home side fell behind to Kyriakos Papadopoulos's first-half header and trailed until the 80th minute, when late goals from Sergi Roberto and Suarez secured a 2-1 victory for the home side.
However, despite having left it late, Suarez claimed that the team were confident that they would recover to seal the three points.
"We believed in ourselves until the end because we are the European champions. We had to prove it and we had plenty of chances but couldn't until the end. The most important thing was to win, especially being at home," the Uruguayan told the club's official website.
The win has left Barca top of Group E, with four points to their name from two matches.
