Gerard Pique has revealed that the Barcelona squad was confident of securing victory against Real Madrid on Saturday evening.
Hosts Madrid were favourites heading into the contest at the Bernabeu, but it was Barca who collected maximum points with a 3-1 victory.
"We knew we could win at the Bernabeu," 24-year-old Pique told a press conference. "That feeling was seen on the field. Now we have to continue along this path.
"We knew the importance of winning there and that is why we managed this result."
Barca rose to the top of the La Liga table following the win.
