Barcelona suffered a nightmare start to their defence of the La Liga title by losing to Athletic Bilbao in dramatic late fashion at the San Mames Stadium on Friday night.
Ernesto Valverde's side, which included debutant Antoine Griezmann, struggled to pose a tangible attacking threat, managing just two shots on target before Aritz Aduriz scored a sensational 89th minute winner.
They return to the Camp Nou on Sunday for a meeting with Real Betis, who produced one of the performances of the 2018-19 season to win an incredible game 4-3 in the same fixture back in November.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the fixture on Sunday night.
Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown
The Uruguay international went down with what Barcelona have since confirmed as a calf injury against Athletic on Friday, coming off after 37 minutes following a lengthy spell receiving treatment on the sidelines.
The Catalan side have not determined the exact severity of the injury, but calf problems usually do not resolve themselves within a week - especially given that Suarez has a history of issues in that area.
Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: August 25 (vs. Real Betis)
Messi picked up a similar injury to that of his teammate Suarez whilst on international duty with Argentina over the summer, and was not risked by Valverde during the defeat to Athletic. However, the 32-year-old could feature on Sunday after he rejoined training with the Barcelona squad this week.
Status: Out
Type of injury: Wrist
Possible return date: Unknown
Neto, who joined Barcelona from Valencia this summer, broke a bone in his wrist during training earlier this month. The club has confirmed that the keeper underwent surgery on Tuesday, but did not provide a potential return date.
