Barcelona will be bidding to return to winning ways in La Liga when they travel to Alaves on Sunday afternoon.

The Catalan giants suffered a 4-2 loss to Osasuna in the league last weekend, but they remain top of the table, three points ahead of second-placed Real Madrid on the same number of matches (eight).

Hansi Flick's side will enter this match off the back of a positive result, meanwhile, beating Young Boys 5-0 in their second match of the 2024-25 Champions League on Tuesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Alaves, who occupy 11th position in Spain's top flight, picking up 10 points from their first eight matches.


Dani Olmo

Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: October 20 (vs. Sevilla)

Barcelona will again be without the services of Olmo due to the hamstring problem that he suffered during the team's 4-1 success over Girona, but he could return for the clash with Sevilla.


Ronald Araujo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Araujo will be on the sidelines until the latter stages of this year due to the hamstring operation that he underwent in the middle of July, with a return date unclear at this stage of proceedings.


Gavi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Gavi continues to recover from the serious knee injury that he suffered while representing Spain towards the end of last year, but he is expected to be available before the end of 2024.


Andreas Christensen

Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: November 6 (vs. Red Star Belgrade)

Christensen remains on the treatment table with an Achilles problem, and it is understood that the Denmark international will not be available until the start of November.
