Barcelona starlet Ansu Fati is reportedly facing another lengthy spell out of action with his latest injury.

The 19-year-old has struggled with fitness issues since making his return from a serious knee problem in the autumn and was unavailable over the festive period due to a hamstring injury.

Fati was brought off the bench for the Copa del Rey defeat to Athletic Bilbao last week but was forced off in extra time, leaving the field in tears before being consoled by manager Xavi.

Fati's injury is understood to be a flare-up of his recent hamstring issue, and Sport claims that the problem will render the Spain international unavailable for 'several weeks'.

The report adds that Fati must now decide whether he is willing to undergo surgery to correct the issue, but the teenager is reluctant to enter the operating theatre after his previous negative experiences under the knife.

Fati has five goals and one assist to his name from 10 appearances in his disrupted 2021-22 season and boasts a total of 18 goals and six assists in 53 appearances for the Catalans. body check tags ::
