Barcelona defender Douglas is reportedly facing eight weeks on the sidelines after picking up a thigh problem in Tuesday's pre-season friendly against Chelsea.
The Brazilian started the International Champions Cup match at right-back, but lasted just 16 minutes after struggling in the early stages.
It was initially thought that the change, which saw Sergi Roberto enter, was purely tactical, but reports after the match claimed that the right-back had suffered a damaged thigh during a race with Eden Hazard.
According to Marca, Douglas, who moved to Camp Nou from Sao Paulo last summer, is now facing two months out of action.
The 24-year-old only made two league appearances for the Catalan outfit last season.
