Forward Lionel Messi has reportedly been ruled out of Argentina's friendly international with Spain on Tuesday evening.
Last week, Messi was forced to miss his nation's 2-0 victory over Italy, but the Barcelona star had suggested that he was on course to feature against Spain in Madrid.
Argentina coach Jorge Sampaoli had also indicated that Messi would be taking no risk in making an appearance in what is regarded as an important warm-up clash ahead of this summer's World Cup.
However, according to Goal.com, Messi experienced discomfort in training on Tuesday morning, and the 30-year-old would prefer to remain on the sidelines to rest his hamstring and adductor.
Messi has played a total of 43 matches for club and country this season, and Argentina have previously expressed concern that their key man had been playing too much football at Camp Nou.
