Barcelona have announced that Neymar will be sidelined for the next two weeks after contracting the mumps virus.
The illness, which is also known as epidemic parotitis, leaves patients with fever, muscle pain, headaches and swollen glands.
In a statement, the La Liga champions confirmed that the Brazil international will miss the European Super Cup against Sevilla on Tuesday, as well as both legs of the Spanish Super Cup final against Athletic Bilbao later this month.
The diagnosis comes despite the club stating that Neymar had previously been vaccinated against the disease.
