Barcelona defender Adriano has insisted that his team cannot afford to approach the Club World Cup with anything other than 100% effort if they are to triumph in Japan.
The Spanish giants will face Asian Champions League winners Guangzhou Evergrande in the semi-finals of the competition on Thursday.
The victor in the second semi-final will then take on River Plate in Sunday's final, and Adriano has called on his teammates to avoid complacency.
"For me, it is very special to be able to play in the Club World Cup. We arrive here with enthusiasm. Many players in the squad have yet to win the Club World Cup, which is good," Adriano told Barca TV.
"The rest of us want to do so again. We can end the year with another trophy, which is always important. People say that the Club World Cup is easier than European competitions, but we cannot be complacent."
Barcelona, who qualified for the tournament by winning the Champions League last season, beat Santos in the final of this competition in 2011.
