Barcelona president Joan Laporta has insisted that he has "full confidence" in Xavi despite an inconsistent run of results.
Xavi, who became Barcelona's manager in November 2021, enjoyed success in his first full campaign as the club's manager last season.
The 43-year-old oversaw Barcelona's first title success in four years, while his side also won the Spanish Super Cup.
Despite lifting silverware last term, Xavi has seen his position become the subject of speculation in recent weeks following an uninspiring run of form.
In his last five matches in charge, the Barcelona boss has seen his side lose to Real Madrid and Shakhtar Donetsk in the league and Champions League respectively.
Although they have also claimed two wins in that period, their most recent outing resulted in a frustrating 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano.
As a result, the Catalan giants are sitting in fourth place in La Liga with four points separating them from league leaders Real Madrid.
Although the manner of Barcelona's recent performances have also been called into question, Laporta is confident that Xavi is the right man for the job.
"We had talks with the coach and his technical staff. We have full confidence," the Barcelona president told the media on Monday.
"I have always said that he is our coach and that we are with him. We have full confidence. We are confident that tomorrow's game will go well.
"I see him very motivated. We have been talking before and after Vallecas. We are aware of the situation we are in it for the long haul."
Laporta also pointed out that Xavi has had to contend with a number of injury absentees this season, and he is hopeful those returning from the treatment room can help spark a positive run of form.
The 61-year-old added: "Now he has all the players who were carrying long-term injuries and that allows him to have more solutions. He has managed to overcome things during this time that he had so many injuries and it was not easy."
Barcelona, who currently top their Champions League group, will have the chance to secure their place in the last 16 when they play host to Porto on Tuesday. body check tags ::
