Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has revealed his delight after making his 100th appearance for Spain in their final 2018 World Cup qualifier on Monday night.
Busquets became a centurion when he started La Roja's 1-0 win over Israel in Jerusalem.
The 29-year-old is now joint-11th with former Barcelona teammate Carles Puyol in the all-time list, and the midfielder has said that he was 'proud' to reach the milestone for his nation.
"To reach this landmark fills me with pride," Busquets told Marca. "It means I rank alongside players who have achieved so much for the team and this means so much, I want to thank those who have made it possible for me.
Iker Casillas is Spain's all-time leading appearance maker on 167, while current captain Sergio Ramos is second on 147 caps.
