Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has said that he does not believe his team deserved to lose Saturday's La Liga clash with Alaves.
The Spanish champions suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat to the newly-promoted club as Ibai Gomez's second-half strike proved enough to hand the visitors all three points.
Busquets has conceded that the Catalan outfit were 'far from their best' in their third league game of the season, but doubts whether Alaves, who led at the interval, did enough to deserve the win.
"Clearly it wasn't our best game. They were much more effective and won, but I think it was an unfair defeat because they didn't do more than us to win," Busquets told reporters.
"The calendar is like this for all the teams. We all know that these things happen, so it's no excuse. We have a big squad and the coach is one that decides who plays, it's nothing more than that. He made the changes that he considered most appropriate for the team.
"We have to recover as soon as possible and remember that we've only just started the season and there's a lot of the league ahead."
Barcelona will begin their Champions League group-stage campaign at home to Celtic next week.
