Atletico Madrid may reportedly be without Diego Costa for the rest of their La Liga campaign as the striker faces an eight-game ban following his sending-off against Barcelona.
The Spain international was given a straight red card 28 minutes into Saturday's top-of-the-table clash at Camp Nou, which Barca went on to win 2-0 thanks to a couple of late goals.
Costa earned the dismissal for insulting the referee's mother, allegedly yelling: "I sh** on your fu*** mother. I s*** on your f**** mother," in the direction of Gil Manzano.
According to a report carried by The Mirror, the 30-year-old faces a huge suspension if he is found guilty of making the comments.
Should Costa be hit with the eight-game ban, he will miss the remaining seven matches of this season and the first game of the 2019-20 campaign.
