Ronald Koeman will reportedly continue in his position as Barcelona head coach after accepting a pay cut.

Having only claimed third place in La Liga this season, it has been frequently suggested that the Dutchman could be removed from his position in the dugout.

However, after president Joan Laporta revealed on Tuesday that discussions had "gone well", it appears that a positive resolution has been reached.

According to Diario Sport, Koeman will extend his contract at Camp Nou to 2023 after agreeing to accept a deduction to his wages.

Barcelona have been proactive in signing a number of new players on free transfers, while Koeman is believed to be behind the pursuits of compatriots Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay.

Koeman has recorded 34 wins from his opening 54 matches in charge at Camp Nou, suffering 11 defeats.
