Lionel Messi has said that he is unconcerned about beating Brazil legend Pele's goal record.
The Barcelona forward scored two in their 5-0 win over Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night to take his calendar year total to 72 and leave him just three short of beating Pele's best.
The Argentina international is also 12 short of former German striker Gerd Muller's record of 85 goals in one year.
"Breaking Pele's record is the least I'm worried about," said Messi.
"We won at a difficult ground, and that was the most important thing."
Barca equalled their best ever start to a La Liga campaign with the victory and now have 25 points from nine games.
