Barcelona boss Quique Setien is reportedly planning on including Carles Alena in his plans for next season.
The 22-year-old struggled for action at Camp Nou in the first half of the 2019-20 campaign and was subsequently sent on loan to Real Betis for the remainder of the season.
The Spaniard has made 10 appearances for Betis since his arrival but will be returning to Barca this summer.
According to Sport, Setien believes that Alena can fit into his system next season and will hand him the opportunity to secure a regular spot.
The Spain Under-21 international has scored three times and contributed five assists in 39 appearances for the Spanish champions in all competitions.
The midfielder's current deal at Camp Nou will run until the summer of 2022.
