Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol is reportedly considering retiring from the game.
The 35-year-old, who has 100 Spain caps to his name, has played close to 600 games for the Catalan outfit since stepping into the first team in 1999.
However, the centre-back has been plagued with a series of fitness problems over the last couple of seasons and has missed much of the this campaign with a right knee injury.
According to Mundo Deportivo, his fitness concerns have forced the defender to contemplate announcing his retirement before the end of the season.
Gerard Pique and Javier Mascherano are the current first-choice centre-backs for Barca.
