Luis Suarez has tipped Barcelona teammate Neymar to break Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's stronghold on the Ballon d'Or at some point in the future.
The Brazilian dazzled in Sunday's 2-1 El Clasico win over Real Madrid and had the Camp Nou crowd on their feet with a thrilling solo run that resulted in him firing narrowly over the bar.
Nobody barring the talismanic duo has won the world's most coveted individual prize since Kaka in 2007, with Messi winning it on four occasions - one more than his Portuguese counterpart.
However, the Uruguayan says that Neymar has all the qualities needed to win the award at least once.
"After the run that Neymar went on, he had to go for it rather than pass. Strikers are selfish," he told RAC1. "He's a very determined player and I'm convinced he'll win a Ballon d'Or or two."
Despite Neymar's dazzling showreel, it was Suarez who decided the encounter with a second-half winner after Ronaldo had cancelled out Jeremy Mathieu's opener.
