Barcelona striker Luis Suarez has revealed that he was pleased to be able to help his team record a 2-0 victory over Sevilla in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday night.
Suarez opened the scoring at the Estadio Ramon, before Munir El Haddadi struck a second for the Spanish champions, who will host Sevilla for the return match on Wednesday.
The Uruguay international has said that his side will take "a good advantage" into the second leg as they look to claim their first piece of silverware this term.
"It's a good advantage, especially as we're playing the second leg at home," Suarez told reporters. "We're aware that [Sevilla] have a new coach and we didn't know too much about him. It's important that [my goal] served to [help us] win."
Barcelona will begin their La Liga title defence at home to Real Betis this weekend.
