Marc-Andre ter Stegen has revealed that he is desperate to nail down the number one goalkeeping position for Barcelona.
The German made the move to the Camp Nou last summer, but had to watch Claudio Bravo play the entire La Liga season between the sticks.
Ter Stegen was ever-present in the Champions League and Copa del Rey, but he has admitted that he wants to become the undisputed first-choice stopper in the new campaign.
"My decision to rejoin the team [earlier than planned] was correct, because I feel that my mind had time to rest and I feel fit," he told reporters.
"Whoever plays in La Liga or in the Champions League, that's not my decision, but the coach's. I want to play more minutes. And I'll work hard to play in all competitions."
Ter Stegen has started both of Barcelona's pre-season matches out in the United States, with Bravo currently on an extended break following his exertions at the Copa America for Chile.
