Athletic Bilbao won the 2015 Spanish Super Cup following a 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the second leg of their clash at the Camp Nou on Monday evening.

Bilbao entered the return match with a 4-0 lead from the first leg last week, but Barcelona cut the deficit to three goals late in the first period through Lionel Messi.

The visitors scored the game's second goal, however, when Aritz Aduriz, who netted a hat-trick in the first leg, finished from inside the box in the 74th minute.

Both teams finished the match with 10 men, meanwhile, with Gerard Pique dismissed early in the second period for Barcelona, before Kike Sola saw red late on for Bilbao.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each player performed at the Camp Nou.

BARCA

Goal

Claudio Bravo: Did well to keep out Aduriz at the first time of asking, but the striker netted the rebound. Did not do too much wrong - was just behind a shaky defence on his return to the team. (6/10)

Defence

Dani Alves: Usually such a threat in the final third, but the Brazilian's crossing and distribution was extremely disappointing. Had a poor game by his own high standards. (6/10)

Javier Mascherano Neat and tidy in possession of the ball, but did not look comfortable dealing with the physical threat of Aduriz. Was involved in the incident that led to Sola's red late on. (6/10)

Gerard Pique: Was actually one of Barcelona's best players in the first period as he hit the crossbar early on and defended well, but was given a red card early in the second half for dissent. (5/10)

Jeremy Mathieu: Has had a poor couple of weeks for Barcelona and the Frenchman was not much better here. Just does not provide the same attacking threat as Jordi Alba, who is still injured. (5/10)

Midfield

Andres Iniesta: Comfortably Barcelona's best player in the first period as he controlled the whole tempo of the match. Also classy in the second, just needed more from those around him. (7/10)

Sergio Busquets: Did a good job of stopping Bilbao's counter-attacks, while his passing was also nice and crisp. Not much wrong, but did not take the game by the scruff of its neck. (6/10)

Ivan Rakitic: Had an outstanding chance to score a second for Barcelona just before the hour, but bundled wide from close range. Another that was far from his best at the Camp Nou. (6/10)

Attack

Pedro: Should have scored in the sixth minute, but his close-range effort was deflected over the crossbar. Had a couple more opportunities before leaving the field in the 68th minute. (6/10)

Luis Suarez: Did his best to make things happen in the final third and set up Messi for the opening goal of the match. Should have scored himself in the second period though. (6/10)

Lionel Messi: Of course, the Argentine was on the scoresheet for the Catalan outfit, but overall, he had a very quiet game. Struggled to get the best of what was a strong Bilbao back four. (6/10)

Substitutes

Sandro Ramirez: Showed bits and pieces in the final 20 minutes when he was allowed to dribble with the ball, but it was too much of an ask to change the game at that stage. (6/10)

Munir El-Haddadi: Entered alongside Sandro in the 68th minute, but aside from a couple of neat touches, did not have much of a contribution at the Camp Nou. (6/10)

BILBAO

Goal

Gorka Iraizoz: Would not have expected to have such a comfortable night. Forced into making a couple of decent saves, but in truth, did not have an awful lot to do for long spells. (6/10)

Defence

Oscar de Marcos: Was more than prepared to break forward when the opportunity presented itself, but was also sound defensively. Won the header that led to Aduriz scoring Bilbao's equaliser. (8/10)

Aymeric Laporte: Manchester United were reportedly watching the Frenchman at the Camp Nou and he had a stunning night. Helped keep Messi and Suarez quiet for long spells. (8/10)

Xabier Etxeita: Was forced off with an injury in the 68th minute, but was also excellent for his side at the back. Made a number of crucial interceptions, especially in the first period. (7/10)

Mikel Balenziaga: Guilty of committing a number of late challenges throughout the match, but his energy down the left proved vital. Contributed to what was an excellent defensive performance. (7/10)

Midfield

Eneko Boveda: Technically a right-back, but was drafted in to play right midfield at the Camp Nou. Not an awful lot going forward, but performed such an important defensive role. (7/10)

Carlos Gurpegi: Much like Boveda, was hardly involved past the halfway line, but his experience proved vital, especially in the first period. Finished the match in central defence. (7/10)

Benat: Did not have his best season last term, but this was much more like it from the talented Spaniard. Used the ball intelligently and was more than prepared to help out his back four. (8/10)

Javier Eraso: Had a wonderful chance to score late in the first period, but hit the side-netting from inside the box. His energy gave the Bilbao defence a welcome out-ball. (7/10)

Markel Susaeta: Performed a vital role on the left as he linked with Aduriz and also provided protection to his full-back. Maintained his discipline excellently during a selfless performance. (7/10)

Attack

Aritz Aduriz: Terrorised the Barcelona defence all game as he demonstrated how to play the lone striker position. Got his goal 15 minutes from time after initially being denied by Bravo. (9/10)

Substitutes

Gorka Elustondo: The Spaniard, who joined from Real Sociedad this summer, was brought on in the 68th minute following an injury to Etxeita. Slotted into the team with minimum fuss. (6/10)

Kike Sola: Replaced the excellent Aduriz in the 81st minute, but was sent off just five minutes later for a late challenge on Mascherano. The dismissal was perhaps a touch harsh though. (5/10)

Mikel Rico: Replaced Benat late on as Bilbao closed out the tie. (6/10)
