Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each individual player performed during Barcelona's 3-2 La Liga win over Villarreal.

Barcelona moved one point behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid with a 3-2 win over Villarreal at the Camp Nou on Sunday.

Villarreal twice led in Barcelona, with Denis Cheryshev and Luciano Vietto scoring either side of a strike from Neymar.

However, goals from Rafinha and Lionel Messi turned the game on its head in the space of two second-half minutes.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at how each individual player performed during the Spanish affair.

BARCELONA

Goal

Claudio Bravo: Might have done a little better for Villarreal's second, while he was caught off-balance for the away side's first. Not the Chilean's best performance of the season. (6/10)

Defence

Dani Alves: Got forward on plenty of occasions, but needed to produce better delivery. Was part of a defence that struggled when Villarreal broke with pace. (6/10)

Javier Mascherano: Was caught too high on a number of occasions in the first period, but settled in the second half and finished the game in the centre of midfield. (6/10)

Gerard Pique: Made a number of crucial challenges, but cost his side a goal when he was robbed of possession by Giovani dos Santos. Aside from that, had a decent match. (6/10)

Jordi Alba: Always an attacking threat down the left and set up a number of chances. (7/10)

Midfield

Sergio Busquets: Tasked with protecting his defence, but the Spaniard was a little off-colour here. Was withdrawn for the final 20 minutes, with Mascherano moved into midfield. (6/10)

Rafinha: Had a super match in the middle of the park. Played a big part in Barca's first, before scoring their second. Also helped out his defence in the latter stages of the contest. (8/10)

Andres Iniesta: Still searching to find his best form this season. Showed moments of his undoubted class, but did not really have a big impact on proceedings. (6/10)

Attack

Neymar: Continued his excellent run of scoring form with a vital equaliser late in the first period. Was inconsistent last season, but is now the real deal for the Catalan outfit. (7/10)

Luis Suarez: Had at least three golden chances to find the back of the net, but it would not go in for the striker. Worked hard, but had little reward at the Camp Nou. (6/10)

Lionel Messi: Was always a threat in the final third and scored a sensational goal to move Barca ahead for the first time in the match. Back to his best form in recent weeks. (8/10)

Substitutes

Jeremy Mathieu: Replaced Busquets for the final 20 minutes and slotted effortlessly into the centre of the defence. Nice and solid from the Frenchman. (6/10)

Pedro: Had a lively 10-minute cameo at the Camp Nou. (6/10)

Ivan Rakitic: Only given the final two minutes and therefore did not have enough time to make an impression. Will have been disappointed not to have started. (5/10)

VILLARREAL

Goal

Sergio Asenjo: Unfortunate to be on the losing team in Barcelona. Conceded three times, but made a number of excellent saves, especially in the first period. (6/10)

Defence

Mario Gaspar: It was the right-back's attempt that brought Villarreal their opening goal, while the Spaniard was solid in defensive areas. Can be pleased with his performance. (6/10)

Mateo Musacchio: Made a number of crucial interceptions, but was caught a little flat-footed in the second half. On his day, one of the best centre-backs in the league. (6/10)

Victor Ruiz: Thought he had equalised in the second period, but saw his close-range finish disallowed for offside. Had a decent match at the heart of the back four despite the three goals. (6/10)

Jaume Costa: Had a really good night down the left. Caused Alves problems with a host of dangerous runs, while the defender also made a couple of vital clearances. (7/10)

Midfield

Jonathan dos Santos: Impressed against his former club. Delivered a number of dangerous free kicks and came close to scoring himself on a couple of occasions. (7/10)

Bruno: As usual, the Spaniard was calm and composed in possession, but he picked up a booking just 23 minutes in and was not really the same thereafter. (6/10)

Tomas Pina: Tasked with forming a shield in front of his defence, but the midfielder was a little overrun, especially during Barca's dominant second-half spell. (6/10)

Denis Cheryshev: Did brilliantly to open the scoring for the visitors, while his pace put Barca on the back foot. Has been one of the best players in the league this season. (7/10)

Attack

Luciano Vietto: Showed excellent composure to level the scores at 2-2, while the Argentine proved a constant threat in the final third of the field. (7/10)

Giovani dos Santos: Set up Vietto for Villarreal's second with a sensational run and caused Barca problems all evening. Strong display from the talented Mexican. (7/10)

Substitutes

Manu Trigueros: Provided a little more quality than Pina, but could not help his team recover. (6/10)

Moi Gomez: Only given the final five minutes and therefore the talented youngster did not really have enough time to make a positive impression. (5/10)

Ikechukwu Uche: Hardly touched the ball after entering in the final minute. (5/10)
