Barcelona continued their impressive start to the new La Liga campaign by thrashing Levante 5-0 on Sunday night.

Five different goalscorers guided the visitors to the three points as Neymar, Ivan Rakitic, Sandro Ramirez, Pedro and Lionel Messi, who also missed a penalty, all found the back of the net.

Below, Sports Mole takes a look at how each player performed as Barcelona eased past the league's bottom side.

Levante

Goal

Jesus Fernandez: It was a tough night for the shot-stopper as Barcelona piled on the pressure, but he'll be furious with himself for throwing the ball straight to Messi for the Argentine's goal. (5/10)

Defence

Tono: Partly responsible for the penalty as he combined with Loukas Vyntra to bring down Messi, and never really recovered. (5/10)

Hector Rodas: Must have been relieved to see Neymar taken off early in the second half after struggling to cope with the Brazilian before the break. Battled away admirably. (6/10)

Loukas Vyntra: A night to forget for the Greek defender, who was dismissed for fouling Messi inside the box with just 41 minutes on the clock. (4/10)

Pedro Lopez: Unable to get forward as much as he would have liked, but did well to track the runs of Dani Alves throughout the match. (6/10)

Midfield

Pape Diop: Like so many other players before him, struggled to get close to Andres Iniesta and resorted to fouling his opponents for much of the game. (5/10)

Simao: Looked bright in the early stages as Levante started promisingly, but struggled to make any kind of impact as he dropped deeper to help out his defence. (6/10)

Roberto Camarasa: Lively going forward early on, but he drifted in and out of the game far too often as Barcelona started to dominate. (5/10)

Attack

David Barral: Probably the pick of the Levante players. Showed great spirit to battle with the Barcelona defenders, and looked the player most likely to score for the hosts. (6/10)

Jose Morales: Another player who faded as soon as Barcelona broke the deadlock. Pushed off the ball far too easily following a good start. (6/10)

Víctor Casadesús : Denied an early goal by Rakitic's goal-saving tackle in the six-yard box. Neat and tidy on the ball, but always on the periphery. (6/10)

Substitutes

Mohamed Sissoko: Replaced the tiring Diop just after the hour mark, and put himself about impressively in the closing stages. (6/10)

Ruben Garcia: Barely involved in the game as he watched Barcelona play the ball around with apparent ease. (5/10)

Andreas Ivanschitz: Guilty of allowing the game to pass him by, despite having over half an hour to make an impact. (5/10)

Barcelona

Goal

Claudio Bravo: Very easy day at the office for the Barcelona goalkeeper as he watched his teammates control the match. (6/10)

Defence

Dani Alves: Predictably eager to get forward, and produced a number of inviting crosses for his teammates in a decent performance. (6/10)

Javier Mascherano: Marshalled the troops very well at the back, and often started attacks with some excellent passing. (7/10)

Jeremy Mathieu: Luis Enrique selected the Frenchman ahead of Gerard Pique, but he made too many mistakes on a night which should have been far easier for him. (5/10)

Jordi Alba: Typically energetic display from Alba, who displayed all of his attacking ability to set up Pedro with a great run on the left. (7/10)

Midfield

Sergio Busquets: Rarely grabs the headlines, but did his job very well as he broke up play and set the tempo from a deep position. (7/10)

Ivan Rakitic: Starting to show that he is exactly what Barcelona were missing last season. Brilliant at both ends of the pitch, and scored a great goal to open his account for the club. (8/10)

Andres Iniesta: Difficult to remember him giving the ball away. Linked superbly with Messi throughout a 71-minute stay on the pitch, and was once again his side's main creator. (8/10)

Attack

Lionel Messi: Another classy performance from the Argentine, who responded very well after missing a penalty. He didn't appear to get out of third gear, but still displayed his class by terrifying the Levante defence. (8/10)

Neymar: Star of the show in the first half as he regularly got behind the Levante defence before breaking the deadlock with a good finish. Taken off early in the second half as a precaution after hurting his back. (8/10)

Pedro: Not always involved in the build-up, but still managed to make an impact in the final third of the pitch. Helped himself to the easiest of goals following Alba's good work. (7/10)

Substitutes

Sandro Ramirez: Another promising cameo from the youngster, who took his goal very well and put in a good shift in attack. (7/10)

Xavi: We might never get used to seeing him come off the bench, but his passing was of the highest quality again as he slotted in alongside his teammates for the final half hour. (6/10)

Sergi Roberto: Not too many chances to get involved going forward, but no surprise to see him once again impress on the ball. (6/10)
