Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Al-Hilal.
Neymar has enjoyed a successful six-year stint at the French giants, contributing 118 goals and 77 assists from his 173 appearances in all competitions.
The 31-year-old has also played an active part in the club's pre-season, an indication that there are no issues behind the scenes involving the Brazil international.
Nevertheless, it was claimed earlier this week that Neymar is keen to depart the Ligue 1 champions before the end of August.
While that speculation has since been played down by his father, the general consensus is that the versatile attacker will leave if an interested club put forward an acceptable proposal.
Despite having admirers in the Premier League, Neymar would allegedly like to return to Barcelona if the La Liga outfit are able to facilitate a reunion.
However, according to Foot Mercato, Al-Hilal are interested in securing his services in a big-money deal.
As one of four clubs who are controlled by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Al-Hilal have the funds to add a global superstar to their ranks this summer.
They had wanted to sign Lionel Messi before the Argentine decided on Inter Miami, while PSG were recently presented with a world-record proposal for Kylian Mbappe.
PSG jumped at the opportunity to cash in on the want-away Frenchman, only for a move to the Middle East to be rejected by their all-time top goalscorer.
The Saudi Pro League side could now switch their attention to Neymar, who they know is available for far less money than Mbappe despite having one further year left on his contract.
Much will depend on whether Neymar is prepared to consider a transfer to that part of the world, following in the footsteps of an increasing number of players based in Europe.
Al-Hilal have already signed Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom ahead of the restart of their league schedule later this month. body check tags ::
