Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Douglas Luiz for Aston Villa, and are prepared to offer Franck Kessie as part of a potential deal.

Luiz was linked with a move away from Villa Park in the summer, but he recently signed a new contract that is set to keep him at the club until June 2026.

Despite signing a long-term deal, Calciomercatoweb are reporting that Barcelona have identified Luiz as a possible target as they look to strengthen their midfield in the January transfer window.

The report claims that the Catalan giants are preparing a bid, which could include seeing Kessie move in the opposite direction.

Kessie only signed for Barcelona in the summer on a free transfer from AC Milan, but he has struggled for playing time, starting only five games this season.

While Barcelona are believed to be willing to offer a transfer fee and Kessie in a bid to agree a deal, Luiz's new contract could hamper a potential transfer.

Luiz has registered two goals and two assists in his 16 appearances for Villa this season. body check tags ::
