Barcelona and Valencia are reportedly both in talks with Boca Juniors over the signature of Agustin Almendra.
Almendra, 18, is currently the captain of Argentina's Under-21 side and is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in South American football.
Several clubs have been credited with an interest in the teenager, but according to Goal.com, Barcelona and Valencia are actively in talks with Boca over a deal for Almendra.
The central midfielder made his senior debut for Boca earlier this year, and has started nine of his club's 14 matches during the current campaign.
Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Napoli and Villarreal are also said to be admirers.
