Barcelona have reportedly expressed their desire to insert a €1bn (£847m) release clause in Ansu Fati's contract.
The Catalan outfit put the same huge release clause into Pedri's new deal last week and are now set to protect the future of another of their young talents.
Fati's current contract at the Camp Nou expires at the end of the season and he has been in negotiations with Barca over a new deal for some time.
According to Marca, if he does sign an extension, it will come with a €1bn (£847m) release clause, but the length of the contract is yet to be agreed.
The report adds that the other issue is how much Fati will earn, as Barca do not have much room to move with regards to his wages due to their salary cap.
The 18-year-old has scored 14 goals in 46 appearances for the club since making his debut in August 2019. body check tags ::
