Barcelona have reportedly upped their efforts to sign Ajax defender Sergino Dest.

The Catalan giants are in the market for a new right-back after allowing Nelson Semedo to link up with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

While they hold an interest in Norwich City's Max Aarons, the La Liga outfit are said to be prioritising an approach for United States international Dest.

According to Marca, Barcelona want to capitalise on the 19-year-old preferring to make the switch to Camp Nou over Bayern Munich.

Barcelona are allegedly prepared to shell out a fee which could reach £22.5m when add-ons are taken into account.

With Dest having less than two years left on his contract, Ajax have taken the decision to cash in on the youngster.
